A sample of summer 2007 Yaks -- selected from our ongoing 18 programs throughout Asia, Africa and Latin America -- will be posted to this board so that friends and family can share in the ENTIRE *global* Dragon's experience!
On ancient maps Dragons were drawn to symbolize the unknown and to travel beyond the familiar world was to go "where there be dragons." There are people who live their lives for adventure, exploration and knowledge - people who are willing to venture into the unknown for the sake of discovery. For those people, we offer incredible experiences. We hope you're one of them. Won't you join us?
"Since 1993, Where There Be Dragons has offered rugged and honest introductions to the people, landscapes, and issues of the developing world. Traveling by foot, train, bus, tractor, and horse-drawn cart, participants discover the awesome beauty of the developing world’s wilderness areas, and the spectacular cultural traditions that continue to exist in towns and villages that lie off the beaten path. Through monastery-stays, home-stays, meetings with local and international development workers, service projects and visits to remote sights of cultural and historic interest, students gain profound insight into the beauty and drama of daily life in developing nations. Dragons offers summer and gap-year semester programs in China, Tibet, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, India, Guatemala, Peru, Bolivia, Senegal and Morocco. Programs are for students 15 and up."
